Academics, practitioners and community leaders across Africa, the Americas and Europe, united to break the cycle of generational dependency and all forms of deprivation.

Through the Global Institute's African Diaspora-Continental collaborations, she takes demand-driven, hands-on education, trade, investment, professional services and local raw material-based manufacturing and construction entrepreneurship with microfinance to the communities that need them most, with the aim of alleviating the dependency mindset and all forms of deprivation, including poverty, hunger, homelessness and the digital divide.
As a public policy analyst working with elected officials, she has helped rebuild declining municipalities and businesses, improve fair housing and job creation, and open development and construction procurement to minority contractors. As the State of Illinois Governor's New Immigrants Policy Counselor, she helped create the New Americans Policy, which produced the For the Benefit of All publications later replicated by other states.

She has mentored President Obama's Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), now the Mandela Washington Fellows, and, with United Nations sponsorship, hosted several African Presidents at international economic summits.
Each year she organises the Trade-Investment Mission and Entrepreneurship Development Conference, taking Diaspora Africans to Africa to leverage AGOA with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) for mutually beneficial trade and investment. Her recent work focuses on transforming African higher education through a strong funding base and demand-driven curricula linked to the private sector. Through the Global Youth and Students Association (GYSA) and Global Institute Women for African Development (GIWAD), she promotes youth leadership and women's engagement.
A US Government certified AGOA advisor, Moderator of the United Nations African Trade Summit (2021), keynote presenter at the African Universities International Women's Day (2021) and recipient of the African Union / Association of African Universities Keynote Presenter Award (2019), Prof. King is a Fellow of the Institute of Operational Research and Management Sciences and of the Development and Leadership Institute, a Council on Foreign Affairs international educator, a subject matter expert witness and a published author.
